Fathom (2017)

A young man, Luke is struggling with his music career, being a new parent and supportive husband - because he is severely depressed. Unable to speak out Luke exists halfway between his numb reality and anxious dreams. Convinced his family would be better off without him Luke decides to end his life. At the depths of his despair an extraordinary encounter with nature inspires him to fight his way back.

Zara’s World tells the story of eighteen-month-old “gayby” Zara and the people who shape her world. Her mothers are sporting legend Zoe Goss and dance performer Claudia Alessi, who live in Perth. Her biological father and performer Kirk Page who lives in Sydney but has an active parenting role. When they are not able to all be together, Kirk hooks up on Skype to stay in tune with the family. As they juggle their busy careers and navigate traditional expectations of what it means to be a 'family', the delights and challenges of being one of three parents to a curious and delightful child are revealed.

This is a fine film, poetic, compelling and touching, the type of film that is becoming rarer, because it is too easy to make glib, weak films based on special effects. Industrial Angels is the type of film audiences yearn for, a story that reaches out and touches us and relates to our current frustrations and contradictions.
Industrial Angels is a fairy tale for adults. Two baby angels are sent to the city from their forest sanctuary. They are the last angels. Years go by, they adapt to an urban environment, falling from grace until they finally catch the attention of one human, just one. who also needs a friend.
Industrial Angels plays with cultural mythology, dances physical poetry and films ability to transport its audience. The film premiered as a special event at Luna Cinema with a live music performance by musicians of Nova Ensemble with an original sound-scape composed by David Pye.
